Chamber of Chills 7 CONSERVED (see descrp) -- Cited in SOTI Pre-Code Horror 1952 Book is complete and cover attached. Cover shows signs of moisture damage, with stains and ink from another book transferred to this one; has slight musty odor if you put your nose to it; rust migration to interior wraps around staple holes. A very cool and scarce book, cited in Seduction of the Incident (man-eating crab panels, pg. 389 in SOTI). Spine of cover and centerfold were reinforced, all done with archival-quality materials (no tape or glue), and staples replaced with vintage substitutes. Conservation performed by me (check out my work on Instagram at cbrescue1). I use only professional materials and methods, such as leaf-casting, Japanese paper and dry-cleaning. color touch, trimming, reglossing or other cosmetic enhancements. Conservation is recognized by CGC and CBCS as its own category focused on preserving the physical integrity of comic books, and conserved specimens generally command better market value than comparable ones with restoration. Of course, this is not a guarantee of a certain grade or value if you were to slab or sell the book. Will be uploading new listings frequently, so check back.
